Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

How to Apply for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Canada is a popular destination for skilled workers who want to immigrate and start a new life. However, the process of obtaining permanent residency can be challenging and competitive. That's why some provinces offer immigration programs that cater to the specific needs and demands of their labor markets. One of these programs is the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), which invites applicants based on their scores and occupation codes in different rounds.

What is the SINP?

The SINP is a way to immigrate to Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The PNP allows provinces and territories to nominate candidates who meet their economic and social needs. The SINP has three categories: International Skilled Worker, Saskatchewan Experience, and Entrepreneur and Farm. Each category has different sub-categories and eligibility criteria. You can find more information about the SINP categories on the [official website 1]

The SINP is only one of the steps toward becoming a permanent resident in Saskatchewan. All approved applicants must also apply for residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and meet the federal requirements related to health, security, and language.

What are the benefits of the SINP?

The SINP offers applicants several advantages, such as:

  • Competitive application processing times
  • Assistance from provincial immigration officers who can explain the requirements
  • A lower minimum language score than the federal Express Entry system
  • A wider range of eligible occupations than the federal Express Entry system
  • A chance to apply without a job offer under certain sub-categories

How to apply for the SINP?

The first step to applying for the SINP is to create an online profile through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The EOI system is a pre-application process that allows you to indicate your interest in applying to the SINP. You will need to provide information about your education, work experience, language ability, and other factors. You will also need to select an occupation that matches your skills and qualifications. The SINP uses the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system to classify occupations according to their skill level and type. You can use the [NOC Search Tool] 2) to find your NOC code and title.

However, not all occupations are eligible for the SINP. The SINP publishes a list of excluded occupations that are not in demand in the province. This list is updated regularly and can be found on the [official website 9] At the end of the blog, we provide you with a Table containing information about the related occupation. Check out. You cannot apply for the SINP if your occupation is on the excluded list.

The SINP will assess your profile and assign you a score based on the points grid. The points grid measures your potential to settle and contribute to the province. You can find the points grid on the [official website3]. The SINP will then invite the highest-scoring candidates to submit a full application. The number and frequency of invitations depend on the provincial needs and capacity.

The second step to apply for the SINP is to submit a full application online. You will need to provide supporting documents to prove your eligibility and identity. You will also need to pay a non-refundable application fee of $350 CAD. The SINP will review your application and make a decision. If your application is approved, you will receive a nomination certificate from the province. You can then apply for permanent residency through IRCC within six months of receiving your nomination.

What's new in 2023 and 2024?

The SINP has some exciting changes coming up in the next few years. Here are some of them:

- The annual allocation for the SINP has increased to 7,250 in 2023 and will increase to 8,000 in 2024³⁴. This means that more applicants will have the opportunity to be nominated by the province and apply for permanent residency.

- The list of excluded occupations may change over time, so you should check the latest list on the [official website] 5) before applying. The list was last updated on December 1, 2023. You may want to add a disclaimer or a date to your blog post to indicate when the list was last updated.

- The SINP points grid may also change over time, so you should check the latest points grid on the [official website] 3) before applying. The points grid was last updated on January 1, 2023. You may want to add a disclaimer or a date to your blog post to indicate when the points grid was last updated.

Conclusion

The SINP is a great opportunity for skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada and live in Saskatchewan. The SINP has flexible and diverse criteria that suit different profiles and backgrounds. The SINP also has fast and efficient processing times that can help you achieve your immigration goals sooner. If you are interested in applying for the SINP, you should check the eligibility requirements, the excluded occupations list, and the points grid on the official website. You should also create an online profile and submit an expression of interest as soon as possible. You never know when the next invitation round will be!
